The Collaboration Services group within the Information Technology Division at Berkeley Lab is hiring for an Application Administrator. The Collaboration Services group is responsible for a variety of web-based tools, including Google's core business applications (mail, calendar, drive, sites, groups), Confluence, email gateways, load balancing (BigIP), list services (Google Groups), and Identity Management. The Application Administrator will serve in support of the following services: Atlassian Confluence, Mail gateways, Google Workspace infrastructure, conference and event management, AODocs. Additionally, the Application Administrator will assist in managing the migration of legacy systems to their current counterparts.

What You Will Do:
- Provide Tier II support of Google Workspace product issues, participate in process improvement initiatives, and support outreach and training efforts.
- Provide system administration support for email and related applications.
- Assisting in the management of email aliases, forwards, auto-replies, and support all mail-based Google Workspace Apps (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Groups, Sites, Currents, etc.).
- Support all Google Workspace Apps and manage the lbl.gov domain using the Google Workspace Admin console.
- Support all third-party Google Marketplace apps such as Smartsheet, Diagrams.net, LucidChart, Spanning Backup, AODocs, etc.
- Serve as systems administrator and support for the following CentOS application servers: o Atlassian Confluence (team collaboration and documentation) o CERN Indico (conference and event management).
- Present projects and supported products to Lab users at various events such as LabTech and training sessions.
- Support projects to gather requirements for department-wide projects to assist scientific and operations divisions.
- Interface closely with the Cyber Security Group to align Collaboration Services efforts to Cyber Security best practices and policies. Implement new email policies, email blocks, and searching SMTP-based cyber threats.
- Provide training for the applications and services identified in responsibilities.
What is Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in system administration in a Windows and Linux Server environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with current Windows, Mac, Linux operating systems, SQLServer, LDAP integration.
- Experience with Scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Perl).
- Software Development experience with Python or Perl.
- Knowledge of virtual computing environments.
- Knowledge and experience in Cyber Security protection and monitoring.
- Understanding of messaging systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working in a diverse team environment.
Notes:
- This is a full-time career appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay.
