We are currently seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team in the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin). As a Supplier Development Engineer you will collaborate on-site with suppliers driving performance through capacity analysis, continuous improvement, and developing relationships in support of a growing agricultural machinery business. This position is an empowered role with strategic and tactical Supply Chain responsibilities.
As Supplier Development Engineer, you are expected to support all activities that ensure a continuous flow of parts supply to our NA Plants. During supplier development and technical assistance missions, the engineer must choose the right approach, depth, focus, techniques and lessons learned, in order to properly address situations. Each supplier development opportunity may be unique.
The candidate will need to demonstrate technical capability in order to communicate effectively with external suppliers, internal supply chain, purchasing, engineering, and supplier quality management on quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
The Supplier Development Engineer will be part of a newly formed team, you will have the opportunity to help define, support, and develop the CNH supply base within NA. The qualified individual will have responsibility for supporting the supply chain across the Agriculture business, follow the Case Business System Manufacturing methods while implementing supplier improvement projects. The specialist is expected to be a self-starter and accountable for meeting aggressive completion targets.
A total of three positions available. These are field based positions ideally located in the the following states in close proximity to a major airport: IL, WI, MI, OH, MN, IN, NC, PA.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a supplier engagement plan, with an on-site supplier focus
- Perform on-site capacity analysis, identify process bottlenecks, validate against current and future demand
- Drive continuous improvement with supplier to meet delivery and quality requirements
- Support and foster supplier partnerships
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external
- Support maintenance of supplier rating system
- Identify and initiate cost reduction opportunities, support contract negotiation projects
- Ensure assigned supply base meets material delivery objectives
- Set and reinforce expectation of suppliers to adjust and perform to delivery schedule
- Prioritize and escalate Critical Shortage resolution actions
- Manage supplier transitions to ensure uninterrupted material availability
Annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 to $139,000 USD. (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Technical or Supply Chain coursework preferred)
- Minimum 6 years experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain with emphasis in supplier capacity and quality, process walks, capacity analysis and demonstrated strong technical aptitude
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
- Ability to travel nationally up to 50%+ (about half involve overnight stays).
