The Lead Design Engineer position at CNH Industrial is a key part of a multinational teams responsible for the sustainable design, development, validation and delivery of world-class agricultural and construction equipment whose noble work feed and shelter the world's ever-growing population. In this role, you will be a part of the development of innovative design solutions for challenging multifaceted problems related to crop harvesting, in which one must create, monitor, and execute project plans to ensure timely delivery of product line objectives.


Responsibilities

• Communicates with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion within project timing and budget.
• Work effectively with a cross-functional and global team of individuals on complex problems in the development of robust solutions for new and existing products.
• Schedule and facilitate design reviews, DFMEAs, risk assessment and other technical meetings including functions within and outside of CNHi.
• May direct field testing of products and systems performed by field staff.
• May conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
• May confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Summarize and effectively communicate key project details and status. Clearly document solutions. Manage new designs and solutions into production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
• 3+ years experience in a Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering role
• Experience or interest with software and controls of mechanical systems.
• Basic understanding of software development.
• Proficiency with CAD (Creo Preferred) and knowledge of design tools such as: FMEA, DOE, Robust Design, and Pugh Concept selection is desirable.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis; knowledge of Creo Simulate.
• Demonstrated written and oral communication with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel to the field occasionally to experience firsthand the use and application of harvesting equipment.
